Lotus House, Redesign

Project Overview

Lotus House opened in Miami in 2006 and is the country's largest women's shelter. While their website is comprehensive, current issues may present barriers for prospective donors to complete their donation.

Project Length: 1 week

My Role: UI Design & Research

Tools Used: Figma

Audience & Target Users

We chose to optimize Lotus House’s mobile site and focus on Miami millennials with disposable income because...

of Millennial donors are enrolled in a monthly giving program.

47% of Millennials gave through an organization’s website.

Millennials are active on their phones and respond most to text and social media.

Design Challenge

How might we simplify the donation process for local millennials, enabling them to easily track and modify their contributions, in order to increase donations for Lotus House?

Opportunities - Current State

  • Not optimized for mobile

  • Donate Button - Hard to find

  • Impact Numbers - Low on screen

  • Readability - Text-heavy

  • Hero Image - Not Impactful

Final Prototype
